Compulsory work placements are organised, starting in the 1st year, under the control of Véronique Grange, head of the school’s Work Placements and Jobs. Work placements, which follow a professional development path, are assessed by the company supervisor and taken into consideration in the marking system.
They are the opportunity for students to put their knowledge and skills into practice and to integrate into a professional environment.

Work placement: Operative employee Work placement Operative employee 1 month, in February

An initial encounter with a company. The placement involves carrying out simple tasks. Students discover the world of employment and life in a business environment.
Work placement: Salesperson Work placement Salesperson - 2 months at the end of the academic year

This placement introduces students to selling methods, and methods to analyse the various procedures and negotiation cycles of a supply and a demand.
Work placement: Management Work placement Management - 3 months at the end of the school year

During this placement, students find out how a key company department works by carrying out a real assignment within it.
The International work placement Work placement International - 4 months starting in April

The work placement must be carried out abroad.
Students find out about the working methods and business cultures of each country. They develop their fluency in foreign languages.
They must demonstrate eagerness and adaptability.
Work placement: Management Work placement Management – May to September

This placement allows the student to determine whether his/her chosen career plan matches the 5th year specialisation option.
Work placement: Specialisation Work placement Specialisation - 6 to 8 months starting in January

The last work placement is related to the student’s specialisation.
This is a real professional trial period in which the future graduate must demonstrate perseverance, adaptability and the ability to work in a team, while maintaining rigour and quality in applying the knowledge acquired during his/her studies.

It is up to the student to find his/her placement. However, a work placement service provides students with a number of offers. Two advisors guide students, help them in their choices and monitor them through contacts with the company during their placement periods.

A few figures
After 6 months’ work placement, 95% of EBS graduates are taken on, in France and all over the world.

According to the latest statistics published in 2006, the average annual salary is around 33,000 euros.

Nearly 40% of them find work outside France.

European and international companies, whatever their size and the sector in which they work, are looking for graduates able to speak three languages fluently and to understand different mentalities, thus avoiding incomprehension and misunderstanding in negotiations.
