3rd-year entry tests

Written tests
Through its 3rd-year direct entry tests, ebs aims to detect in its future students, who already hold a 1st-stage degree or equivalent, linguistic knowledge, open-mindedness and an ability to synthesise.

1. Assimilation tests - Coefficient 4

A textual synthesis or an argued opinion on a current-affairs subject (economic, sociological, etc.)

2. Language test - Coefficient 6 (3 per language)

One of these two languages must be English. The other one is to be chosen from Spanish, German or Italian.

Oral tests
The ebs entry competitive examination is like a real job interview. In view of the European nature of its programme, students’ ability to express themselves in two languages is a determining factor for admission to the ebs.

1. Interview - Coefficient 4

To gain better understanding of the candidate’s personality, the Panel uses a video recording made by the candidate on a current affairs subject (see screen test).
This interview must allow the Panel to assess the candidate’s level of general knowledge, open-mindedness and energy and his/her ability to fit into the ebs international programme.

2. Screen test - Coefficient 2

In front of a camera, the candidate must analyse and take a position on a current affairs subject – drawn at random and completed in 45 minutes – explaining the reasons for his/her choice.

3. Language orals - Coefficient 4 (2 per language)

The candidate must prove his/her ability to converse fluently in the two chosen languages on subjects relating to current political, economic and social affairs or his/her interests.
